Fixing Misaligned Labels on the Zebra ZT111

If your Zebra ZT111 printer is printing labels that are misaligned, skipping, or not stopping at the right spot, this usually means the printer needs to be recalibrated or the labels are not loaded correctly. Follow the steps below to get your labels aligned properly.

Checklist:

  • Are the labels loaded properly?

  • Are all adjustable and non adjustable guides correct?

  • Have you recovered sensor calibration?

  • Have you checked for any mechanical issues?

✅ Quick Tip

In most cases, misalignment issues are resolved by reloading the labels correctly and Recovering sensor calibration.

Step 1: Check Label Loading

Before recovering calibration, make sure the labels are installed correctly:

  1. Open the printer cover.

  2. Confirm that the labels are seated straight and all the way loaded onto the media spindle.

Confirm this by pressing the labels all the way back, and make sure the yellow label guide is securely against the labels

Step 2: Check ALL label alignment guides

There are 4 label alignment guides that impact the labels ability to feed properly through the ZT111 printer.

  1. the Label Runner - this is a large black piece of placstic found in front of the label roll. The labels must feed under the label runner and they must be face up.

  2. the internal label guide - To check this guide, you will need to open the printhead

Looking straight in from the front of the printer, you will see a metal guide, the labels must feed under this label guide

  3. There is a metal feed guide that is adjustable found just on the outside of the label roll

Adjust the metal feed guide on the right-hand side of the labels so that they are close, but not squeezing the labels

Step 4: Check For Physical Damage

If calibration doesn’t resolve the issue, then you may need to make sure that there isn't any other physical damage to the platen roller, printhead, or any of the print guides.
